I am honored to help you to recognize and work with your whole self, welcoming issues that you may not have considered before.
Clinical research tells us that the therapeutic relationship is much more important than the therapeutic method used in counseling. Cultivating an open, honest, trusting, and supportive relationship and a safe environment in which to generate hope, encouragement and to induce change is my primary focus.
I consider myself to be an 'eclectic' therapist, meaning that I have training and experience with many types of therapeutic approaches. My core training and experience is grounded in Systems Theory, and I tend to utilize a relatively short-term, solution-focused model, always with your goals in mind.
If you appreciate honest, empathetic and compassionate interactions and communication, we will work well together. Working collaboratively, you will learn to first identify, and then to honestly communicate your feelings and your needs to others, utilizing skills that will be available to you far past the current crisis.
